Telecommuting, virtual teams, more and more people find themselves “working remotely” – a business model we have taken to heart at LeanOptions. By working remotely with our team and our clients, we are able to improve productivity, efficiency and add value by significantly reducing overhead waste.
As an example, last week I found myself in the coffee shops of Vancouver, communicating with team members and clients in Regina and Calgary, and working on projects located in SE Saskatchewan, South America and the Middle East.
To facilitate the process there are a number of readily available and inexpensive (if not free) file sharing and communication tools such as Dropbox and Skype.
Check out this new report from BMO which states that almost one-third of companies are now enabling their employees to telecommute.
