At LeanOptions we combine our technical knowledge and experience, proven project management methodologies and tools, and lean practices and principles to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and on budget. We have experience with a number of corporate project delivery systems and champion the use of well defined standards, processes and procedures. As project managers, we utilize proven methodologies and our diverse experience to provide effective services in project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and close-out, across many engineering disciplines. Project Management activities include project plans and schedules, execution plans, stage-gate project delivery processes, management of change, scope control/monitoring, and financial reporting.
Related Projects:
Onshore Greenfield Development Project – Provided project engineering services to a multi-disciplined team developing and designing the field development plan for an international jungle-based oil production facility. Assisted with development and implementation of health, safety and environmental management plans, document control and new system implementation, management of change processes. Activities included, but were not limited to, aiding the analysis and selection of project design alternatives, guiding the development of a regulatory compliance register for identifying and tracking regulatory requirements in a foreign country and facilitating the hazard and risk identification process. Utilized corporate project stage-gate process to help lead team through successful stage gates.
Offshore Deep Water Exploration – Provided project management support services to an international exploration team, developing and maintaining the project plan by interacting with project team members to monitor progress and identify schedule delays and mitigation measures.
Major Capital Project Support Services – Provided project management support services to a major engineering firm working on a coal fired power plant demolition and retrofit project. Support included weekly and monthly reporting to the consulting firms’ client, cost control/change management including budget revision requests due to project scope changes for client approval and updating the project execution and quality assurance plans. Provided guidance to electrical, instrumentation and process control disciplines in development of team schedule and deliverables. Facilitated communications and collaboration between EPC engineering teams and project owner’s engineering teams. Assisted with development of equipment and instrument tagging standards.
University & Industry Small Modular Reactor Research Project – Participated in a joint University/Industry research project established to evaluate potential applications for Small Modular Nuclear (SMR) Reactor facilities to provide supplemental electrical and thermal energy to various industrial processes. Industrial processes considered for this research project included potash extraction and processing, nitrogen based fertilizer production, ethanol production, petroleum refining, greenhouse operations, district heating and water purification processes.
LeanOptions’ role was to provide actual thermal and electrical energy requirements of several industrial processes that the University and Industry researchers could utilize in the engineering design of SMRs and heat exchanger configurations that would be capable of providing supplemental electrical and thermal energy.
